In the academic year 2007/2008, after a long hiatus, VRiSBI once again organised an International Research Project (IRP), and it was a great success. After 5 weeks of preliminary research, 20 students and one teacher boarded a plane to Dublin to have an unforgettable trip. More information about this IRP can be found at http://studiereis2007.vrisbi.nl/en/.

A new IRP is organised by VRiSBI for the 2009/2010 academic year. The IRP is combined with an official ESE course, lasting 8 weeks and worth 4 ECTS. This course is scheduled for block 2 (November and December 2009). Preliminary research will take place during the first 5 weeks of the block, and will be coordinated by Uzay Kaymak, a full professor at the Erasmus School of Economics. During this time, the main research questions will be formulated and preparations will be made for the research itself, which will be done in Seoul, South Korea. The preparations will include company visits, presentations and workshops.

The activities undertaken while in Seoul will mostly focus on the research, and will henceforth include company visits and a visit to University College Seoul. Of course, some time is also planned for leisure; we will be visiting the traditional Korean village of Namsangol, among other things, and we’ll also conduct a thorough inspection of Seoul’s night life!

The participants’ contribution will be ca. 400 to 500 euros. This includes the flights, accommodation, activities, various surprises and, in some cases, food and drinks. We will be in South Korea for about 10 days, 12 days including the flights.
